The Challenge
The Institute of Urban Indigenous Health had developed a System of Care, which provided a “one stop shop” approach to improve health care for Indigeneous Australians.
The approach had proven to be very successful for IUIH with other health care providers outside SE Queensland asking to be trained in their system.
Devoting numerous hours to delivering the training face-to-face IUIH engaged Superb Learning to move the System of Care training online.
The Approach
An initial design thinking workshop was conducted with content broken into 11 distinct areas related to the System of Care. Workshops were then conducted around each of these areas, with a design blueprint being developed for each. The design blueprint outlined the structure of each course, including the levels in the course and learning objects in each level. Our learning experience platform was implemented and a range of learning objects was developed.
These objects included elearning resources developed in Articulate Storyline and dominKnow Flow, video interviews of key staff at IUIH, internal IUIH documents and other relevant curated content.
Results
Well regarded by the organisation and their partner agencies, the System of Care is now being commercialised to educate other health care providers across Australia.
Since implementation, further courses have been designed for development across areas related to mental health, healthy lifestyle choices and an education and exercise program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
